Why Work With Me As Your Virginia Criminal Defense Lawyer?

I founded my firm, Andrew Graves PLLC, to provide knowledgeable defense representation to people across Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. As a former law enforcement officer, I understand every stage of a police investigation. I use that insight to spot errors, challenge evidence and build strong defense strategies. I have argued serious felony matters before the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the Supreme Court of Virginia. In addition, I hold capital defense certification for high-stakes criminal charges. At my law office, I create a comfortable atmosphere where you can speak freely without judgment.

Andrew C. Graves

A Former Police Officer Who Knows Criminal Law

Police officers sometimes make mistakes during traffic stops, searches and arrests. I know just how officers document incidents because I used to write those reports myself. I review body camera footage, search warrants and chemical testing procedures to challenge weak evidence.

I defend young adults, local workers and other residents against criminal charges throughout Harrisonburg, Rockingham County and the surrounding Valley communities. Many of my clients are college students at James Madison University and Shenandoah Valley colleges and universities. These cases often involve not only criminal proceedings but also campus disciplinary proceedings. By managing both cases strategically, I can help students avoid criminal sentences and continue in their academic careers.
